The Power of Network Marketing

Mark Yarnell was a minister in a small town in Texas. Unfortunately, he was headed for

bankruptcy and was just about to lose his car and home. He was looking for a way out and

discovered network marketing. Luckily, he had a wise sponsor.

His sponsor gave Mark what he called “THE PRICE OF PROMISE”.

The promise is: “This business can set you free financially in one to three years.”

The price is: “To succeed, you will have to face and conquer 4 major enemies.”

Mark said, “It’s a deal.”

Mark began by inviting 200 friends over to his house to watch a video. 80 said “No, not

interested”
Mark had encountered ENEMY #1: Rejection.

He thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. But I still have 120 people that are confirmed to come over.” Guess what? Only 70 showed up.

Mark had just encountered ENEMY #2: Deception.

Mark thought, “No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. At least those 70 people watched the video!” Guess what? 57 said “Not Interested”.

Mark had just encountered ENEMY #3: Apathy.

Undaunted, Mark thought, “No problem – 13 people DID sign up!” Guess what? 12 of them dropped out of the business shortly thereafter.

Mark had just encountered ENEMY #4: Attrition.

Attrition had left Mark with just one serious associate. Guess what? To this day, that single distributor earns Mark over $50,000 per month.

Mark Yarnell’s story is NOT Unique!

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. The story spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers – distributors who had failed. They showed garages full of products they couldn’t sell. During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What’s your secret?”

He replied, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, ‘No’ and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.”

Like Mark Yarnell, Bill worked through the numbers.

Jason Boreyko, co-founder of New Vision, told this story. When he was a distributor in Matol, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of “No’s” on the way to those 50. Jason took one man, who he knew would be terrific in the business, to lunch and told him about the business. The man said “No”. Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and gave him some updates. Once again the man said, “No”. Jason sent him some more information and took him to lunch again the next month. Again the man said, “No”. That went on for six months. The seventh month, something had changed for the man, and he said, “Yes”. That man made Jason over one million dollars. Jason also worked through his numbers.

While starting Amway, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, America’s eleventh richest entity, recruited 500 people. 495 dropped out. The five that didn’t quit, built Amway. All $7 billion of Amway’s business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through the numbers.

There are many similar stories.

Jeff, the top money earner in Mannatech, signed up 27 people his first month. One might think that he is especially talented at sponsoring. Actually, Jeff will be the first to tell you that he is not talented at all. In fact, he feels that he did very poorly. To recruit those 27, Jeff talked to 2000 people that first month. And of the 27, the only one who did anything significant with the business was Ray Gebauer, who has more than half of Mannatech in his downline. Jeff’s word to you is this: The numbers never lie. Pick your goal and then get into massive action. If you talk to enough people, you will make it!

Here’s the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Mark Yarnell’s odds were 1 in 50. Jeff’s were really 1 in 2000. Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the 1 who will make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to become a millionaire? Or hear “No” uncounted times to sign up 50 people and find that million dollar person? I hope you will. It’s easier when you know the odds up front.

But here’s the catch: You have your own set of odds – and you won’t know what they are until AFTER YOU’VE SUCCEEDED.

So if you’ve gone through 50 or 100 people and you haven’t found 1 serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn’t work, or recognize that you are working through your own numbers.

Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is?

This means that you must pay the price for freedom. Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where your skill level is, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds.

There is no such thing as luck in this industry. Winning big is a matter of being willing to pay the price. Are you willing? Your future is in your hands! The choices which you make today will determine the course of your entire future.

Logging in today as the first trip to Florida. I’ve never been in the Orange state in my life and I made a promise to a 5 years old he will be there for his birthday on October 19th, 2010 for Hollywood Studios. My son Cesar Antonio.  

As most of you know, I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was breathing. Something inside me has always told me I was going to be a leader and coach others in personal development and business development.

You know that by surrounding yourself with 6 and 7 figure earners you will achieve and be more then you were told you’d be growing up.

We grew up with a lot of dream stealers didn’t we? A lot of negative people telling us that we have to stop chasing after getting rich because they want to keep you were they are. Some of those people live with you right now. That person is or may have been you ;-)

The interesting concept though is that my 6 and 7 figure earners don’t have that mentality. They encourage me to be more. Strive more. I’ve had 5 figure months and they tell me you better do better than that. It blows my mind away because I keep reaching for the top and I love the empowerment that I get from others in my circle of influence.

So what brings me out on a Wednesday you may ask? I’m flying in with some folks on my team in my primary business for a new company just launched on August 15th, 2010 in the home business arena. Most companies you may have seen before are involved in either a service industry or a product health and wellness industry.

The Truth About Citrix’s GoToMeeting

I have had the pleasure of being in the industry of technology since my mom gave birth to a 10lbs 300baud modem (ME) in 1977. :) .

Out of all the business networking tools I have used out there for online conferencing, Citrix’s GoToMeeting has got to be the smoothest online systems I have seen out there with features that make sense to a viewer and a host.

Pros: These features include, hiding and unhiding participants online. Asking prequalifying questions to participants of the meeting before logging in. Audio streaming of meeting over VoiceOverIP or dial-in number for lanline. Hand being raised to ask a question during a session. Very low latency on screencasting.

Cons: Now, this is the only thing I have not found online or on Citrix GoToMeeting’s website. If I want to pass a predefined field variable through a link. In this case, let’s say the field is asking the viewer "Who invited you to this webinar?" I would like to be able to include in the special link ?WhoInvited=Cesar%20Ramirez when the link is submitted via email, Twitter, Facebook, or any other social micro blog sites. This would auto populate that field.

If you know of a method to overcome this, please let me know. Ive dealt more with PHP coding than ASP(X) so i may be off here. Because the webpage is not written in PHP, I’m sure there is a method around that considering the code variable for that field is already determined.

frequency cap – restriction on the amount of times a specific visitor is shown a particular advertisement.

You need to understand basic internet marketing terms so you can easily create an advertisement campaign related to your online business. If you’re goal is to attract advertisers on a regular basis fundamental principles of SEO content, pricing strategies for your ad space, and how to report conversion rates and other statistics, is a must.

Skymall Magazine

So I was pulling out a skymall magazine on my flight to Tampa, FL and I came across this page. “The greatest gift … is to help others help themselves.” Wow! How powerful is that?! The main reason I began flipping pages anyway was because I was listening to an audio training cd set by Cedrick Harris called “The 10k per month attraction marketing blueprint.” In there he talks about live marketing scenerios that have built him his leads for his primary business both offline and online.

Now, the concept is pretty simple. This tool that is known as sizzle cards or drop cards look like real $100 bills. What is recommended is that you stick $100 bill drop card in the magazine with a message that will intise your reader/prospect. It’s very duplicatable and they are fun!

Can You Pass the Leverage Test? by Todd Falcone

We talk about leverage every day in network marketing. It’s the basis of why we can earn the kind of money we do. Earning income on the efforts of lots of other people is a great way of leveraging yourself.

But, can you actually pass the leverage test in all that you do in your business?

Throughout a normal day of being a network marketer, there are many things that you are probably doing, including sending and responding to emails, spending time for personal development, prospecting, running ads, conducting meetings, doing 3-way calls, training, and so on.

Everyone has 24 hours in a given day. Bill Gates, Oprah, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson, me, you…everyone has 24 hours each day. Human beings need to sleep. So…no one can work all 24 hours.

Are you maximizing your productivity in the hours that you are able to put into your business? For most people, the real answer is “no,” even though they may have kid themselves into believing something different.

After you read this, run into the bathroom. Look at yourself. And ask this question, “Am I really doing all that I possibly can in the most efficient manner to propel my business forward to its absolute capacity?

Be honest when you ask yourself that question. If the truth hurts, change it.

Here are a few tips to ensure you are maximizing your leverage in your business:

1. Prioritize Your Prospecting Calls. Make sure your dials are efficient. If you know you’re on the line with someone who is a loser, get off the phone. Use your ears and quickly determine whether or not you are on the phone with the right candidate. If you’re a talker, put a timer on your desk and set it at 5-minutes. When it buzzes and you’re still on the phone with the same person, ask yourself whether or not this person is really worth the time you are putting in.

2. Watch the Chit-Chat. It’s real easy to get caught up during productive work hours having conversations that are meaningless to your business. Talk to your friends and family later, unless they are in your business. Be productive during your productive time.

3. Prioritize Your Call-Backs. If you’re a busy person like me, there is a good chance that your phone is ringing all day long. Oftentimes, I am on the phone and it goes directly to voice-mail. I only call back people in a timely manner when it is critically important to do so. And…if I don’t know you and you are not clear on your message, your call back goes to the bottom of my list. Here’s what you can do with your voice mail to ensure that people tell you why they are calling and can give you a legitimate reason for calling you back. “Hi…you’ve just reached the office of Todd Falcone. I’m on the other line currently. At the tone, please leave your name and your phone number twice, and be sure to tell me the purpose of your call, as I prioritize my call backs due to my busy schedule.” You get the point. If you don’t put that on your voice-mail, you’ll have people calling you and you have no clue who they are and what they want. This is a time-saver.

4. Conduct Group Trainings. Instead of wasting your incredibly valuable time conducting one-on-one trainings, schedule a weekly training call and a weekly Q & A call that allows you to impact many people rather than only one.

5. Tools Are Leverage. Tools serve a multitude of different purposes. Whether it be a sales aid like an audio CD or DVD, a weekly meeting, or weekly conference call, they serve several purposes. Primarily, they ensure that the message being delivered is consistent. Secondly, it puts you in the position of not having to do the telling and selling. That’s what tools are designed to do. Use them.

6. When It’s Prospecting Time, Prospect! Get this. There are only so many hours during the day when you can actually reach people. When it’s prime-time, only conduct primary activities that lead to revenue. The middle of the day and early evening is not the time to be listening to motivational CD’s, and it’s not the time to be writing ad copy. Spend your hours wisely. Being an entrepreneur means that you might be burning the candle at both ends. I spend my evenings and mornings writing, reading and listening to stuff that furthers my education.

7. Sort Your Emails. Get a spam filter. It will make your life a lot easier. If it is not pertinent to respond right this second, then respond to it later. Again…make sure you are focused on revenue producing activities.

8. Hire some Help. We are all busy. You’ve got laundry to do, shopping, running errands, paying bills, kids, etc. It is incredibly easy to hire cheap labor. Find someone who can do your grocery shopping for you, clean your house, mow your lawn, go to the post office, or whatever else it is that keeps you out of production. You’d be amazed at what you can get for under $10/hr. You have to put a massive value on your time.

Those are just a few ideas on how you can make your life easier, more productive and get more leverage out of the leveraged business you are in.
