I think you make an important point here (whether its what you meant of not, its what I read into it) that we must have faith in something greater than ourselves. Yes, have faith in yourself, but you can only get so far on your own. To achieve something bigger than yourself, you need faith in something bigger than yourself! In scripture we find instructions for passing faith on to our children by letting it permeate our lives. We are to teach it to our children when we lie down and when we rise up, when we sit in our house and when we walk by the way.
