How To Build Money

The methods of doing business have definitely changed. Are you prepared? If not, it’s back to the rat race you go and you will be running a non-profit business from the discomfort of your home. What do I mean? Read closely to find out.

You see, many folks are trying to perform what use to work in the 1980s and 1990s in business and are still asking themselves “how to build money”? Calling someone on the phone isn’t as effective as it use to be. Take me for example. I use to spend hours dialing and picking up the phone to prospect. I’m not saying it doesn’t work still but I am saying that the idea of getting in front of your prospects are different. Teens now, Generation-Y (born after 1990s), don’t even want to communicate via voice. They all want to use a text messaging system or digital social medium to communicate.  So we have to get into their minds and prepare for the future. Facebook, Netflix, and Twitter figured it out. Have you ever received a phone call from any of these companies asking you to join their deal? Negative.

So how do you make it work for your business and leverage your time and stop asking yourself  how to build money? It’s simple. Learn how to effectively market using affiliate marketing. What is affiliate marketing? You may have heard of the phrase. Affiliate Marketing as of today has about 25,900,000 results searching on Google. Affiliate marketing is a marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts. The industry has four core players: the merchant (also known as ‘retailer’ or ‘brand’), the network (that contains offers for the affiliate to choose from and also takes care of the payments), the publisher (also known as ‘the affiliate’), and the customer. The market has grown in complexity to warrant a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates and specialized third party vendors. (From Wikipedia).

So dumbing it down, basically it goes back to WITFM (What’s In It For Me) as a consumer? If you’re not allergic to money, this may be a solution for you if you currently have a website or like to waste time on Facebook (trust me, once you get going on Facebook, you can get lost in Flashback photos). They should just call it Flashbacks (just saying) . My buddy Curt Maly figured out how to save me time. He created Social Media in 7 minutes (freaking genius). The software he uses there allows me to use robots to do all the automation for me all from one location (Walk away income).

So most products or services that are making this digital era work are either paying for clicks (using pay per click) to drive traffic or have a commission percentage pay out to pay you for marketing their product. Take me for example. In the summer of 2010 I developed CraigslistAdPower.com. I knew if I was to make it an affiliate product, it would be attractive to readers and marketers like yourself because you will share it with your list. My friend Larry Beacham put me on the phone with over 200 people and we sold 122  product licenses in a 24 hour period just to his list. Why did it work so well? Because he has provided enough value so that people listen to him. He got paid gracefully and so did I. I pay out 50% of commissions to my affiliates. I call that fair. As a result, I also increased my list over 200 people that would otherwise not have known me if I wasn’t referred by him. I will be realistic and the average person will not want to invest the time to create their own product, so marketing someone else’s products is the best solution to get paid today.

Recently you may have heard the buzz about Empower Network which is first of it’s kind to pay out 100% commissions at $25 a month (starting up to $125+month or more for their up-sell) directly to your bank account. As of writing this article, they have had some challenges with merchant accounts, so at the moment I choose to be paid by Paypal until things change and are more secure. The idea of Empower Network is quite genius. Put on by David Wood and David Sharpe, they build a network of bloggers, as yourself, if you choose to get involved. If you’re like me and you love to write about anything your mind chooses and don’t care about what others think about your writing, then I suggest you consider Empower Network as a source of income as well. They have banners marketing themselves and their products and they are doing ALL the selling for you through your affiliate link. In return they pay you 100% commissions. If you have no followers online or a very small list, this is the best way to get started building a followers list in my opinion.

It’s like what Robert Kiyosaki taught me back in 2006. You want to have about 4-7 streams of income bringing you money every single month without you working it. Keywords are  ”WITHOUT YOU” working it. You can absolutely do that part-time or full-time depending on your drive.

One thing I have noticed from those that make it and don’t make it online is their drive and mentality. Are you educating yourself on what’s working now? Or are you skeptical on the next biggest fad taking your money and calling it a SCAM? I’ve spent hundreds and thousands on learning business and marketing from other online marketers. Why? Because I know they have the goods and I don’t. They are living the lifestyle that I want to live. The lifestyle of making money without having to drive somewhere every single day and spend money on gas. As a result, I now live in the mountains living the lifestyle I enjoy and being a full-time stay at home dad. It can and will happen for you. Just believe.

So let’s see what that looks like. If you hate having to commute to work every day, you’re not alone! The average commute in miles for Americans is 16 miles and 26 minutes for one way (being conservative). That’s 32 miles and 52 minutes for a round trip every day. And that is just the average! It’s safe to assume that the high metropolitan areas such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston and New York will have longer commutes than the average. If you are currently commuting and it’s starting to make you crazy, consider applying for a new job in your area, moving closer to work or car pooling to take the pressure off of driving every day. Especially with the spike in gas prices

As of writing this article 1/29/2012 the local gas station shows $3.70 a gallon to fill up your gas tank. So let’s calculate this out.  32 miles a day and the average car is 22mpg. 32miles/22mpg = 1.45 gallons a day resulting in $5.38 (a day). That’s $26.90 (a week) $115.67 a month and $1388.04 a year. Not including maintenance and food (cheaper to cook at home). Why am I writing this out? Because I want to show you the benefits of the cost of savings of commute time and money by working from home.

Now the average income according to the ssa.gov website for 2010 is $41,673.83.  After paying 42% of that to Uncle Sam,  that looks like $24,170.82/year.  You are left with $22,782.78/year after paying gasoline and $1898.56/  month in income. The rest goes towards cost of living and maintenance of your vehicle. Look I don’t mean to be to the extreme here, but I really want to paint this picture. You have to ask yourself, can you make more than $2000 a month online (extra income) and can that be full-time so that you can put that the rest of the money away for other things. You can definitely save $1388.04 a year and earn more than $1898.56 a month by working from home. The beauty of being self employed is paying taxes at the end of the year on what’s left not every paycheck. There are a lot of benefits and tax write-offs for working for yourself. Consult a qualified CPA that understands small business owner practices.

In closing business has changed. Either ask your employer to allow you to work from home or create your own circumstance like I have by creating an additional stream of income leveraging online marketing.

Searching the web for the best product deals...

EmpowerNetwork.com Alexa Ranks: This is amazing. So I was actually hammered by all my online internet marketing friends that are very close to me to just “GET IN” and be involved with David Wood and David Sharpe’s Empower Network. I was like, jeez! I’m already laser focused on Visalus Sciences guys and girls. I don’t need anything else on my plate. I got so tired of hearing about it, I joined. So long story short, I saw the herd going over there based on traffic stats. In less than a month they paid out 100% commissions in over $700,000.  I’m going to  show you a cool Alexa snapshot as of this morning.

Now I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but at least I’m in the shed . That’s a huge spike in traffic. So what’s the deal with them and should you get involved?

First of all, you usually want to follow someone with Integrity. In less than 6 months he made a killing just blogging and created a name for himself.

What’s blogging? Writing about ANYTHING you want that you have a passion for –> Attraction Marketing’s finest niche. If you understand that I practice, teach, and advise people to do this one thing, then you’ll have a following. It’s not instant, but compounded over time, you will be that much more SEO (Search Engine Optimized) on the internet.  Additionally, you are allowing your readers to share your content with those that are your friends on all major social media sites. That’s it! Simple as that.

Can’t I just use my own blog site? Sure you can buy a domain $12 per year and to host it $5-$15 a month for a good hosting company with great bandwidth, then spend countless hours setting it all up. Then you can spend hours + more $ marketing it = confusion.

I still can’t believe it. I’ve hit the Gym now over a year and haven’t had this much success. Seriously, I’ve tried a lot of supplements, soups, water diets, low carb diets and I came to realize that I am not consistent with any of those. So this past weekend, I had the pleasure of being introduced to a live seminar by my beautiful wife Xochitl. The seminar was put on by Mindvalley – www.mindvalley.com/about/. Mindvalley is a company that was developed for the person seeking more out of life through enlightenment. For those that don’t understand enlightenment, the best way I can describe it is reaching your higher self so that you can connect to your utmost potential in life.

I have been blessed enough to have married an awesome woman who sees more to life than being stagnant. We forward that belief to our 3 boys and apply a sense of reaching for the stars with little to no limitations. Conventional thinking in our school system teaches us linear (1 track) thinking. As does our jobs with our paychecks (1 track stream of income). Therefore, if there is an infinite amount of possibilities through other systems of learning, you literally have no limitations.

I have been to many seminars. A lot of coaching in the sales and marketing industry as well as personal development. I will have to say that Mindvalley is up at the top of the charts for their forward thinking. I was given some tools that I have never even thought about to utilize my brain to another potential. People often ask me, when is the best time to get into a business opportunity? My answer is, “if your belief level is so strong it makes you cry, then today.” Successful people take action immediately despite of fear.

You see many people don’t know this but the reason I got involved in this industry was because of a girl not because of money. And no the girl wasn’t in a network marketing company, she was an ex-girlfriend who left me for another guy. As depressing as that sounds, it was and it took me awhile to get over her.

The beauty of this story though is that I got invited to a business opportunity that summer of nineteen nighty-nine. It was my 2nd exposure to Amway and it was called Quixtar at the time. I had no idea who these people were or why they looked so happy as if they were on crack . But this set a seed in me that would keep me addicted to this industry for years to come.

So many of you know that my primary product at the moment that I have been passionate about is Kangen Water because of what the water did for my 3 year old son Adam [click to read the story]. My point in sharing with you that link is that you will read the full story of why I became so passionate.

As I stated earlier, your why has to be so big of why you’re doing this business that it makes you cry. Sometimes if not all the time it’s bigger than money. Some people just show up to feel that they’re apart of something huge. But I saw the product results, I saw the potential and I went to work. Is it ok to say that I’m money motivated when I see something huge? I am now a top leader in Kangen Water thanks to my wonderful mentor and duplicateable coaching.

Every company that you get involved with has a marketing/sales department. I don’t care if you’re not a sales person. Get over your funk and figure out what happened to you at a young age to hate asking for the order. Sales and Marketing is the highest paid profession on planet earth – Period.

Take someone like me for example. I was a left brain thinker, engineer as I started my professional career. I realized very quickly that I love engineering, but I love network marketing even more. The self improvement and personal growth is priceless (seriously). You have to make a living first with it before you can make a fortune. Therefore, I don’t recommend quitting your job until you have come to surpass your primary income (job).

So when looking for a part-time business, my recommendation is do your homework on what your passion is. Make sure the product says what it says it’s going to be/do. Don’t just drink it on faith and make a story in your head about it. Actually see the results and your belief level will be strong. Give out samples of your product and let others let you know what they think.

Most of you know that my niche is Craigslist and I rock it quite well. I have produced over $55,000 in less than 7 months just utilizing Craigslist. You can see how [I did it here (CraigslistAdPower.com)]. The strategies work and they will continue to work.

Finally, I recommend if you’re going to build ANY business. Whether it’s real estate (which is my passion), MLM or network marketing (my vehicle to purchase more real estate), or traditional brick and mortar business, you need these tools (www.biztoolsuite.com).

You yourself that wants to succeed should copycat those that have made it happen. Sure you can go invest in PPC, SEO, SMO courses, but those won’t pay you today. If you want results and action quick, utilize this message and apply it. I’m an up front cut to the chase no crap type of guy. If you want results, take action today.

If you’re still at a job and tight on funds, start small but start somewhere. Go make a list of your friends and family and practice with them. This wasn’t my niche but some people are successful at it. I encourage you to just start and run with it.

I woke up today a bit teed off in the industry. I know I may get some rants on this subject but I just want to tell you my experience from a user/producer. I have had success in the industry of Network Marketing and my niche is online marketing. Now there are a lot of systems out there that you can sign up for and they’ll teach you a lot of nuggets, the problem is that they are overloaded with (technical term: CRAP). Not all of it is crap, but it’s just information overload. I’m sorry if you don’t agree. The problem is that you will end up confusing the SH*T out of your team if you don’t have something that is a copy and paste system. I pretty much sum it up in this video below on my thoughts and what I believe works and will continue to work.

Sure you can learn Pay-Per-Click, Social Media, Organic Article Writing, or Classified marketing (my personal favorite), but until you realize that ALL you need is to squeeze information out of someone. They connect to “you” through video. If you are not comfortable in front of video, then learn how to be ok with it. Just be you. I have tested this concept with 5 different MLM companies and 4 direct sale companies and it just simply works.

Items needed:

1) Squeeze page (your video of you telling the prospect who the heck you are looking for to be on your team with a lead capture list builder (example here).
2) Forward that opt-in prospect to either your replicated website to view a few videos of your opportunity. Or squeeze some more information like address and phone number to deliver your product samples with a simple video of your presentation (no longer than 40minutes) of your opportunity video (no other links should be surrounded). – (see 2nd page example here)
3) some simple ad creations with some hyperlinks to your squeeze page
4) save those simple ads in a text file
5) copy and paste ad information to different websites (I love Craigslist)
