As I write this, I write this with passion of love. Many people that know me have known Cesar Ramirez as a hard worker. Someone who never gives up wanting to achieve more and never settling for less. As I write this, I’m lying in bed on a Monday morning being inspired by my good friend Ray Higdon on his post about connecting with his father after 13 years.
I am often asked why do I support and stick around the Network Marketing industry so long. It hit me this morning that I find myself being me and free to be whom I want to be to develop myself more and connect with like minded people.
I don’t know if you can relate to this but many years ago I was finding myself really disgusted with the job industry with all the multilevel interviews and conducting background searches. You know, you go to school, to get a degree, to hopefully find a job that will make you a comfortable living. I found that job and it got outsourced over seas the day of my graduation.
You know it was a cycle of never ending selling myself to get another job that wasn’t a recruiting agency like those recruiting agencies in Hawaii I heard about. I was like “man, if I have to keep going through this cycle and depending on one stream of income to take care of my family, I’m just not going to feel safe living this way.”
So I started to educate myself on businesses and what made great people like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, etc successful. I found one similar thing in common, they all dropped out of college and they had every reason not to fail. They had a burning desire to succeed. Logically, it makes sense why I picked those three names. They are in my industry. I am a Computer Engineer by degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I am a business minded person by nature because of the choices I made and circumstances that I was around. I started my first computer service company in 2006 after being let go from a corporate job because I beat my manager at a Foosball game (seriously he wasn’t happy and had it out for me to let me go).
I knew that if I would bring value to the market place, I would become successful. On the contrary, it also made one big change in my life because I was going completely against what anyone in my family was doing. I was told many times to get a corporate job to get benefits. My mentality was making more money and buying my own benefits. Creating my own circumstances instead of depending on the government, corporate, etc. A slight edge shift in thinking.
Anytime I would talk to my family about the benefits of being in business for yourself, they could not agree with me because they have not experienced anything different then a 9-5 job. So with that said relationships were gambled. Many would not support my decision and even though they knew I was in business, many would not hire me to take care of their computer tasks. They would hire someone else to do the work and honestly, I was offended. Would you not agree if you grew up with someone, looking up to them and they turn around and ignored your efforts to achieve more that they would support you? Instead they ignore you for achieving more and that creates tension and disgust.
Here’s my advice to everyone that has gone through this adversity. The best thing you can do for your life and business is to love those people that treat you and your business like that twice as much. You see, it’s your business. When you’re in business for yourself, it’s your life. The employee mindset folks don’t understand that because they punch in and punch out to go home to complete hopelessness of repeating that cycle day after day. So if you’ve ever gotten the “why do you always talk about your business life around me?” question. Simply say because people do business with people and that’s my life. People don’t do business with companies. Money comes from people and referrals come from people. That’s life.
Why Network Marketing?
I’ve been involved with Network Marketing since 1999 and have had some great success. They say anyone making over $1000 a month part-time is successful. Why do I choose to support the pyramid scheme systems (as the dream killers call it). Simply because it gives the “Average Joe” a chance at developing a business. A “system” that is already proven to work if you follow the recipe. Almost like a McDonald’s without the 1.2 Million Dollar investment.
Here in California, it costs $800+ a year just to keep your corporation going. In a Network Marketing type business, you don’t have to worry about incorporating. All of the headaches of opening up a business are taken care of for you. A S.Y.S.T.E.M. – Save YourSelf Time Energy and Money.
Networking Marketing starts with friends and family. Of course. Any business that you open up should involve the people that you love. If they get offended simply state, “look, I’m sharing this with you because if and when I’m growing my business and making some radical money at it, I want you to know I thought about you. If you found out from someone else and I didn’t share it with you, you’d be twice as offended.”
Network Marketing is not new. It started in 1890 with a company called Avon. They are still in business to this day. I support every single one of these companies and endorse them because of “what makes a leader shine.” We all “want” to win. The problem with the majority of the people out there is that we’ve been conditioned to lose.
There is a book called “The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson”. I have the audio book. It is absolutely unequivocally the most important book to read when you are first getting started in developing your life, business, health and goals. If you haven’t read it or heard the audio book, I encourage you to do so now. You can find it at Amazon or any major book store. If you’re a part of my team, I give every single one of my recruits a copy of the book or audio which ever they prefer.
If you made it this far. You’re a winner. Keep me in your prayers as I will do in mine.
Always with love,
Cesar Ramirez.
